Cowboys & Cocktails
Let’s be honest. What goes better with hot men than hard
liquor?
Nothing. That’s right.
Sylvie Proulx is the food-obsessed blonde seductress hiding
in the body of a skinny, well-manicured, celibate jogging New Yorker. Once a
year, she sneaks off to Las Vegas to get away from her life as it is, and have
a Madame-Eve-approved One Night Stand. She knows that she’ll have one magic
night of food exploration and hot sex. But she’s always afraid that along will
come a man who’ll show her that her old life isn’t enough.
So Sylvie’s signature cocktail for this weekend is: THE FORBIDDEN
LOVER. A fruity, decadent cocktail with a fresh twist that looks sinful and
tastes like a lover’s kiss.
Sylvie doesn’t know it yet, but her forbidden lover is right
around the corner, and he will make her wonder if she should go back to New
York, or follow her heart to Freewill. Let’s look at the mix for Sylvie’s
cocktail:
1 oz. blood orange juice
1 oz. Gran marnier
Dash of simple syrup, 2 strawberries
4 slices of cucumber
Muddle the strawberries with the cucumber in the simple
syrup. Add liquids and shake. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with a spiral
of cucumber and orange peel hearts. Twist on a classic.
Remember the rules of Cowboys & Cocktails… post your
favorite cocktail recipe or a picture of you drinking Sylvie’s Forbidden Lover
to be entered to win the grand prize. And come to my blog during release week
(the last week of June) to find more opportunities to win.
I hope you enjoy Sylvie’s story, and her cocktail. Happy
reading… and drinking! J
